Welcome to the exhilarating world of Ohr Somayach. Since our founding in 1977 we have made it our mission to provide unparalleled learning opportunities to young adults from across the globe. Our wide-ranging programs cater to the broad spectrum of the Jewish community; to those first discovering Torah study and Torah living; those interested in a full Yeshiva experience; and the Jewish family seeking to strengthen the home by building family cohesion and harmony.

Our students reflect a diversified range of backgrounds, interests and professions. Over the years, college students, doctors, lawyers, commodities traders, actors, geologists, musicians and film directors have all chosen Ohr Somayach Monsey as the catalyst for their spiritual growth.

Enrollees in our Legacy Retreats, Ohr Somayach’s outreach division, are drawn to the popular year-round weekend retreats where they can explore their Jewish heritage through dynamic workshops and exciting group activities. Friendships blossom naturally in the atmosphere of camaraderie that pervades Legacy events, leading to enduring social and emotional ties.

For many, Ohr Somayach Monsey provides their first-time exposure to full-immersion Torah study in a uniquely warm and nonjudgmental learning environment. For students already acquainted with the rudiments of Torah learning, Ohr Somayach Monsey affords the opportunity to acquire the skills for advanced study.

The vibrant hospitality offered by the extended Ohr Somayach Monsey family and the warmth of the broader Monsey community generate a sense of belonging in students far from home. Participants in both our full and part-time programs return to their collegiate studies and careers with an enriched sense of their identity and deeper clarity about their ideals and goals. Ohr Somayach’s full and part-time Torah educational programs are housed at our imposing educational facility, on a rolling 10-acre rustic campus in Monsey, N.Y. Ohr Somayach’s family division, Ohr V’Simcha, hosts a year round series of retreats, seminars, and family programming at the luxurious Bet Shvidler Conference Center, adjoining our educational and residence facilities.
